Alexandra Stewart-Long (Bisque-Kit)

Creative Collaborator
Alexandra Stewart-Long is a qualified architect whose work has taken her across the UK, China, and Hong Kong. Having lived in Hong Kong for the past seven years, she’s developed a deep interest in the relationship between the places we inhabit, the natural environment, and the materials we use to shape them.
She is particularly interested in understanding where materials come from, the impact they have on our environment, and what happens to them when we no longer need them. With growing pressure on landfills around the world, Stewart-Long believes there is huge potential in reconsidering what we call “waste” — recognising that many discarded materials still have valuable properties and possibilities for reuse.
This thinking led her to establish Bisque-Kit, a series of hands-on creative workshops that reconnect people with nature through making. Using earth and other natural or repurposed materials, the workshops encourage participants to explore where materials come from, how they behave, and how we can make more thoughtful choices about what we use and throw away.
Based in Mui Wo, she is inspired by Lantau’s unique landscapes, wildlife, and communities, and is passionate about celebrating and protecting the environment she calls home.
