Catherine Li
Mui Wo
Researcher
Catherine Li is currently a PhD Candidate specialising in literary studies, with a particular focus on contemporary Hong Kong literature and the cultural geographies of archipelagos. Her research engages with the transoceanic and cross-currents of influence that shape Hong Kong’s literary imagination, especially in relation to its historical role as a port city and its evolving maritime identity. Her PhD project seeks to reimagine Hong Kong as an archipelago, rather than a singular urban centre. Her broader research interests include transregional Sinophone studies, archipelagic theory, and the poetics of water.
