Shell to Shore

The island coasts are abundant with oyster shells. After their undersea existence is done, what else can these unused shells become?

Come find out in this hands-on workshop, where you’ll turn locally collected oyster shells into a natural, lime-based palette. Then, we’ll use that palette to paint a textured artwork inspired by the Chi Ma Wan Peninsula’s coastlines and communities. Your contribution will become part of a larger collective artwork, co-created with other workshop participants.

Join us in rolling up your sleeves and getting better acquainted with this humble island resource, all while creating a beautiful and lasting celebration of our ties to each other, to the landscape, and to the region’s natural and industrial history.
