Good day, Mr. Mud!

What’s out there living in the mud? Quite a lot, it turns out.
Conservation educators lead this guided walk across Pui O’s mudflats, home to snails, mangroves, and the strikingly built fiddler crab.
You’ll learn why mudflats are important breeding and nursery grounds for coastal life, how people live alongside them, and what threats they face today.
Then, it’s time to get your hands dirty. With guidance from the conservation team, you’ll collect marine litter and abandoned fishing gear from the mudflat. It’s a great way to get acquainted with an easily overlooked side of the island, and leave a small patch of it a little better than you found it.
Learn, do, and have fun – and you’ll have a roadmap for helping to steward Lantau’s mudflats into the future.
