Wander Pui O – Lantau’s largest wetland – and you’ll find Chinese tallow trees tucked among the fields. As autumn arrives and their leaves turn shades of red and brown, it’s a perfect moment to gather them.
In this workshop, you’ll bring a hand-picked harvest of Chinese tallow back to Garden Plus and learn how to turn the leaves into natural dyes. Through hands-on making, you’ll experiment with the colours hidden in the landscape and create something of your own, while getting to know the plants, ecology and seasonal rhythms of Pui O and the surrounding peninsula.
Come brew up your own autumn palette, grown from the land itself.
