Painting Chi Ma Wan with Earth Pigment

What stories can you unearth from a handful of dirt?

Lantau Earth Palette, a team of four, explores around Lantau Island, from mountains to seashores, to forage local soils. They trace Lantau Island's unique geology and cultural history, while transforming local soil into a vibrant palette of earth pigments.

In this workshop, you will be invited to explore Chi Ma Wan Peninsula and uncover the hidden histories woven into the earth, get hands-on with the land to process Chi Ma Wan soil into earth pigment of unique colour, and use these freshly made earth pigments to create your own postcard inspired by the peninsula's coastal ecology.
