Bookclub: Ways of Being Alive
Islanders Space

Island bookworms gather monthly to discuss ways of being on the island.
In November, we will focus on “Ways of Being Alive” by Baptiste Morizot. In this book, the French philosopher states that the ecological crisis we are facing is also a crisis of sensibility – that is, a crisis in our relationships with other living beings. He argues in the book that time has come for us to accept our identity as living beings and change our relationships with other animals, seeing them not as inferior lifeforms but as living creatures who have different ways of being alive. The book brings fundamental ideas that can help you navigate the islands and some of the Inter-Island Festival projects. You can read the book ahead of the sharing or come with all your curiosity!
